I started fishing when I was a little tike. My grandpa used to take me fishing when I visited during the summer. As I grew older, when my uncles would fish they would take me along with them. After graduating high school, I joined the Redman Tournament Central Division as a non-boater. Then I made the transition with the BFL tournament trail, also as a non-boater. At the time there weren't very many local clubs for me to join as a non-boater, so I fished a lot with my family when they needed a partner to fish with. Finally, in ‘98 I graduated to a boater.
I landed a job in aircraft and bought my very own Triton boat! After that I joined the Kansas Bass Anglers Association buddy tournaments. I was dedicated to fishing all of them until the KBAA had come to an end. When I was laid off from my job, I had no choice but to quit tournament fishing for a while. I struggled for to find a job that would pay good enough to support my fishing obsession. Then I started an apprentice program to become a power lineman. In 2008 I joined the local fire dept and am currently a fire fighter in my time away from my normal job (and fishing). Now I'm back to fishing again after getting married and becoming a family with 4 kids. In 2005 and 2006 I was the director of the kids fishing derby in my home town. I am currently fishing the ABA and have been the last couple years with plans to take my fishing career even farther.
